Sprint’s EVO 4G Still Hard to Get

Smartphone maker HTC's uncanny abil­ity to pro­duce crave-worthy Android hand­sets is turn­ing into a prob­lem for the offi­cial U.S. car­rier. Everybody wants the EVO 4G, but Sprint just doesn't have enough. The phone is now listed as delayed with­out a ship­ping date.

HTC is blam­ing their touch screen man­u­fac­turer: Samsung. Sprint CEO Dan Hesse is feel­ing the pain. Yesterday he told the Wall Street Journal “we thought we would have more of a head start [with 4G adop­tion] than we’ll end up having.”

If you're wait­ing for Sprint to restock, you're prob­a­bly in for a looong wait. Samsung won’t be able to han­dle the demand until 2012, when their new dis­play fac­tory is sched­uled to open.
